No “Make a Mother’s Day” Event in 2022

Great news!  Our partner Real Hope for Haiti (RHFH) has received a shipping container of supplies, and two more shipping containers are on the way. These shipping containers contain much needed supplies including 300 birthing kits and 70 layette kits from past Aunties International events.  Shipping these containers was made possible because of donations from people like you.

Because of these containers RHFH is overflowing with supplies and has asked us to hold off on making more kits for now.  Neither RHFH or Aunties International has the warehouse space to store kits until next year; therefore, we are cancelling the 2022 Make a Mother’s Day event. We are contacting other similar organizations to expand our network of partners for the future.

Make a Mother’s Day 2021

Back again is our Mother’s Day weekend event. This year we will be doing something a little different. Because of Covid and the civil unrest in Haiti, not a lot of supplies have been shipped to RHFH. There are 100’s of birth kits waiting to ship already. So RHFH asked us if we would create “layette kits” instead. These kits include things like blankets, diapers and clothes, and are given as an incentive to moms to bring their newborn in for a health checkup. Please check Facebook for date, time and location.

2020 Birth Kit Event Cancelled

In accordance with the governor of Minnesota’s request for social distancing, the Aunties International board had decided to cancel the 2020 birth kit assembly event.

Aunties is dedicated to improving health and educational for women and children worldwide. As we shelter in our homes, we know that there are others that do not have a home. This year we will be making monetary donations to Pathways for Youth, a youth shelter located in central Minnesota, and Alexandra House, a safe shelter in the metro area for women and children experiencing domestic violence.

Every donation finds a good cause

If Aunties gets a donation that we can’t use directly in one of our projects or with one of our partners, we pass that donation along to a good cause, preferably to one that meets our mission of women and children’s health and education. We had some sanitary napkins donated to us that were not suitable for birth kits. We passed those products along to Pathways 4 Youth in Saint Cloud, MN. Aunties International was given credit in a recent Saint Cloud Times article. We have also passed donations on to Global Health Ministries and The Backpack Project to name a few.

Another Successful Event 2019

Another successful assembly event! Friends family and coworkers donated handmade baby hats, onesies, hotel soaps, exam gloves, cotton cloth, and enough funds to purchase supplies for 272 home birth kits! These kits will find their way to women and babies at Real Hope for Haiti in Cazale, Haiti!
